THE CIRCULAR PROCESS
Seven steps. One integrated system. Every step has been engineered to eliminate waste, reduce complexity, and deliver a complete sustainable supply chain.
Full-package garment production at The Woven Sphere facility. Cotton fibres, trimmings, and off-cuts are captured at source — nothing leaves the floor as waste.
Pre-consumer textile waste — normally sent to landfill — is sorted, cleaned, and baled on-site. This becomes the raw feedstock for the bio-polymer process.
Patented cleantech converts garment cotton waste into high-performance bio-based polymer resin. No fossil fuel inputs.
Resin is extruded and formed into mailer bags, retail bags, vest bags, and custom apparel packaging to your exact specifications.
Your brand identity applied at production. Custom print, logo placement, size, and finish across all SKUs. Low MOQ.
Apparel and packaging arrive together — coordinated from a single supply chain partner. One invoice, one contact.
Packaging returns to soil nutrients — completing a fully closed circular loop with zero landfill.

FREQUENTLY ASKED
Straight answers to the questions brands ask before making the switch to certified compostable packaging.
For fashion and apparel end-uses, yes. Recycled plastic still relies on fossil-fuel-derived polymers, requires energy-intensive mechanical or chemical recycling processes, and often degrades in quality with each cycle. ECOVIA® packaging is made from post-industrial garment waste — a feedstock that would otherwise go to landfill — and returns to soil nutrients within 180 days under industrial composting. It avoids the collection, sorting, and reprocessing chain entirely.
No. ECOVIA® products are engineered to match the tactile performance of conventional plastic — similar feel, similar durability, and fully printable for premium brand presentation. The difference is invisible to the end consumer unless you choose to communicate it, which many brands do proudly.
Not at all. Our packaging is fully customisable — same dimensions, same print finishes, same colour palette. We produce from your existing artwork and dieline specifications, or our design team can assist with adaptation at no additional cost for integrated orders.
Several of our product lines carry the OK Compost Home certification, meaning they break down at ambient home composting temperatures — no industrial facility required. For markets with limited composting infrastructure, we can advise on the most appropriate product specification and develop a responsible end-of-life communication strategy for your customers.
We provide a full compliance package for every order — including copies of all relevant certifications, biodegradation test reports, and supplier declarations. These are formatted for direct use in standard retail buyer questionnaires (e.g. Sedex, BSCI) and ESG disclosure frameworks including CSRD and GRI.
MOQs start at 500 units for most bag formats and 100 kg for sheet stock. For brands placing integrated apparel and packaging orders through The Woven Sphere, MOQ requirements are flexible. We actively encourage trial orders so you can test quality, fit, and print performance before scaling.
Through a patented cleantech process, pre-consumer cotton fibre waste from garment manufacturing — trimmings, off-cuts, and rejected fabrics — is processed and converted into bio-based polymer resin. This resin is then extruded into packaging film at our ECOVIA® facility, co-located with The Woven Sphere's apparel production. The result is a genuinely circular material loop with full traceability from waste input to finished packaging output.
Yes — and this is one of the most valuable aspects of ECOVIA® certification. Because our certifications are issued by internationally recognised third-party bodies (ASTM, BPI, TÜV Austria), brands can make verified compostability claims in advertising, on packaging, and in sustainability reports without risk of greenwashing challenge under FTC Green Guides, EU Green Claims Directive, or UK CMA guidance.
